About Me

Hi, I’m Ashlee!

I am the Director of The Studio, a campus support space focused on digital content, and a PhD candidate in Rhetoric and Composition at Texas Christian University. Much of my work centers on public writing, digital media, and activist and feminist rhetorics; specifically, I focus on disrupting stereotypical ideas of what academic work can and should look like. Outside of academia, I’m a creative professional passionate about engaging, unique content that sparks emotion, builds connection, and tells stories that matter. Most days you’ll find me balancing dissertation research, work, and creative projects.

When I’m not writing, teaching, or designing, you can usually find me reading by a body of water, baking a batch of cookies, on a walk with my dog, or somewhere with live music. I am endlessly curious and love exploring new places, spontaneous adventures, and building new connections. Things that reliably make me happy: fresh flowers, finding a great graphic tee at the thrift store, iced vanilla lattes, dogs that look like their owners, and yapping with friends over chips and queso.

I’m always up for talking shop, collaborating on creative projects, or just sharing good food and conversation. If anything here (or across this site) sparked your interest, I’d love to hear from you! My inbox is always open for creatives, collaborators, and fellow yappers.
